Chicago advice states that the Illinois Boxing Association suspended Rioux, with a fine of 1000 dollars, for failure to give an honest exhibition of skill in the Camera bout. Camera was given a favourable judgment, arid received the full purse of 17,000 dollars. Rioux’s handlers insisted that the fight was not “fixed.” They said that Rioux was “scared stiff.” When asked why he failed to fight, Rioux replied: “I tried, but after the first punch I know nothing.” Camera, on February 6, at Newark, New Jersey, will meet “Cowboy” Owens.
