Mrs Appleby, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs E. J. LeCren, Evans Street.
Mr and Mrs Gilray. Dunedin, arrived yesterday to stay at Cadogan, Sefton Street.
Mrs and Miss Black, Nelson, arrive to-day to stay with Mrs Russell King, Sophia Street. Mrs G. T. Baker and Miss Baker, “Deep Dene,” Cave, are on a visit to Hanmer.
Mrs Bannerman, Moana Flats, has returned from a visit to Mrs S. G. Holmes, Mgthven.
Mr and Mrs Frank Scott, Gore, are the guests of Mrs W. H. Walton, Russell Square. Miss Muriel Ford, Auckland, will arrive to-day to stay with her sister, Mrs L. E. Finch, Park Lane.
Mrs Wilfred Blakely, Otago Central, nd Miss de Stong, Dunedin, are staying at Beverley House.
Mrs Huggins, “Halstead,” Waimataitai Valley, has returned home from a visit to Port Chalmers.
Mrs and Miss Nevill Smith, “Silver Birches,” Sophia Street, have returned to Timaru.
Mrs Stokes, Christchurch, and Miss Wooding, Blenheim, are the guests of Mrs R. J. McKeown, Woodbury.
Mrs J. F. Tonkin, Cheviot, who is staying at Cadogan, Sefton Street, will return north to-day.
Misses Muriel and Rainey Hare, Dunedin, are spending a holiday at the Grand.
Mr and Mrs H. Dyson, Port Nelson, have arrived at r,he Grand for a brief stay in Timaru.
Miss R. Gregory, who had been spending a long holiday at the Grand, returned to PahUtua yesterday.
Mr and Mrs Robert Shaw and family (2), motored to the Grand from the north to spend a holiday.
Mrs F. Burns has returned to the Grand from Geraldine and Christchurch.
Mrs F. Cooper, accompanied by Miss N. Cooper, Wellington, arrived at the Grand on Sunday to spend a holiday. Mr Archibald K. Firth and party left the Grand for the Hermitage on Monday, and expect to return on Thursday for a further holiday here.
Miss Doris McHutchison, Dunedin, who was staying with Mrs W. H. Walton, Park Lane, left on Saturday for Christchurch.
Mrs Geo. E. Rhodes, Beverley, Christchurch. is at the Grand for a short holiday before going to stay with Mrs Ben Howell, Cave.
Mr and Mrs James Guild have returned to Christchurch af'.er spending some weeks with Mrs Guild, “Trevenna,” Temuka.
Miss Betty Morris, Christchurch, who is staying at Kelso, Sarah Street, will leave to-day to stay with Mrs O. Blackler, Hazelburn.
Visitors to the Hermitage yesterday included, Mr and Mrs Gorrie (Christchurch), Mr Tucker and Misses Tucker (2) (Wellington).
Mr and Mrs L. Buxton and family (Wanganui), who have been the guests of Mrs T. Seaton. Beverley Street, leave to-day for Leeston. Mrs C. F. Hamilton and Mrs N. L. Seddon, Ashwick Station, Fairlie, arrived at the Grand on Monday to spend a holiday in Timaru. Miss Susie Torlesse, New Plymouth, who has been spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs C. E. Torlesse, Park Lane, returned north yesterday. Mrs Heathcote Grey, Christchurch, will arrive to-day to stay with Mrs E. P. Chapman, Salisbury. Miss Mary Barker, Winchester, who was her guest for a few days, returned home on Monday. The engagement is announced between Commander Aldridge Evelegh, R.N., grandson of the late Commander Evelegh, and nephew of Mrs M. Neviii Smith, Timaru, and Betty Armitage, Derbyshire, England. The engagement is announced of Miss Claire Bourne, of Auckland, to Mr Douglas Cook, of Gisborne. Miss Bourne, who, for s rt me years, was English mistress at Craighead School, is well-known in Timaru, and has many friends here.
