SUCCESS OF GLIDER ’PLANES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, January 20. A San Diego report states that without previous experience of motorless flying, Colonel Lindbergh took off in a glider, flew a mile over the ocean, attained an altitude of 500 feet, remained aloft half an hour, and on return was awarded a first-class glider license, being the ninth in the United States.
