THE CHURCHES.
The services at Trinity Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. A. J. H. Dow. The morning anthems will be “O Lovely Voices in the Sky” and “Doubt Not Thy Father’s Care,” and the evening anthem “I Will Sing of Thy Power.” A cordial invitations is extended to all visitors. Services at the Baptist Church, Wilson Street, will be conducted by the Rev. C. W. Duncumb to-morrow. Both morning and evening addresses will be suited to the dawning of a new year. Congregational singing is always a feature of this church services, and visitors will receive a cordial welcome. The Rev. Harold T. Peat will be the preacher at both services in Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow. In the morning he will discuss the theme, “The Out-reaching of the Year that is gone.” and in the evening “The Threshold of the New Year.” The choir will render an anthem. The services in Woodlands Street Church will be conducted by Mr W. E. Harris and the Rev. P. I. Cooke. In the evening Miss A. Lucas will sing. Visitors are cordially invited to all these services. At the evening service at St. Mary’s Church to-morrow, Christmas carols will be sung. Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Mary’s and St. John’s at 8 a.m., and at St. Michael’s at 9.30 a.m. Other services as advertised. The closing services of the year in Chalmers Church will be conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The subject of the morning will be “The Land of Our Dreams.” At the evening service the subject will be “On Setting Life to Music.” Miss Flamank will sing “Bless the Lord, O My Soul.” There will be Communion at Claremont in the afternoon.
