NOT GUILTY OF NEGLIGENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Oct. 31. A verdict of not guilty was returned in the trial of Charles Robertson, a salesman who was charged with negligently driving a car on August \*Bth and causing the death of James Robert Symonds, a nridgekeeper at Manawatu Gorge. CHARGED WITH BIGAMY. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 31. In the Magistrate’s Court, Maurice William Baker, advertising agent (32». .vas charged that, being married, he went through the form of marriage with Nancy Patricia Holmes, at Wellington on January 8, 1929. He was fimanded till November 7. The Chief Detective opposed bail. He said Baker was ma. in England, and leit his wife a week later, coming out to New Zealand ana marrying again. BOOKMAKER FINED. By Telegraph—Press Association. IVNERCARGILL, Oct. 31. Thomas Henry Brewer, senior, pleaded guilty, and was fined £25 for using his premises as a common gaming house. The police stated that accused was elderly, and it was not a case for a maximum penalty.
