WEDDINGS.

HAWKES—GOLDIE. Yesterday afternoon, St. John's Church, Pleasant Point, was beautifully decorated with spring flowers for the wedding of Olive Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs John Goldie, Springbum, Totara Valley and Trevor, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs J. H. Hawkes, New Plymouth. The Rev. Mr McNeur, performed the ceremony and Miss Jean Borrell, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of beige georgette and lace. The square-necked bodice which was slightly pouched was finished with a panel of lace falling from the shoulder. The flounced skirt with uneven hem line was caught to one side with a green and gold buckle. A wide-brimmed soft sisal straw hat toning with the frock was trimmed with a band of narrow green petersham ribbon and a green petalled flower at the side. Beige stockings, crepe de chene shoes to match, and a beautiful bouquet of freezias and spring flowers completed a very attractive <toilette. Miss Elsie Goldie, sister of the bride, who acted as bridesmaid wore a frock of green and beige figured chiffon, the tightly fitting bodice having a square neck and the full skirt falling in uneven points. Her wide brimmed hat of green Bankok straw was banded with petersham ribbon and she carried an early Victorian posy. A little flower girl, Margaret Morgan, of Christchurch, wore a dainty frock of beige goergette with touches of green, the full skirt composed of tiny frills. She wore a bandeaux of multi-coloured flowers and carried an early Victorian posy. Mr John Page, Christchurch, attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Goldie, received their guests at their home "Springburn,” which was gay with spring flowers. Mrs Goldie’s frock was of black georgette and lace, over which was worn a black charmalaine coat and her black hat of felt and straw was trimmed with black and beige ospreys. Her bouquet was oi violet and fuchsia coloured anemones. Miss Muriel Hawkes, sister of the bridegroom, wore a frock of soft cinnamon coloured satin with a crochet straw hat of the same shade with flat flowers on the brim. Mrs- H. C. Williams. Oxford, sister of the bride wore a smart blue and gold jumper suit and a blue felt hat trimmed with velvet; Miss Betty Goldie, was in a nut-brown tailored suit, ana a small Bankok hat banded with brown petersham ribbon in different shades.

Later in the afternoon when Mr and Mrs Hawkes left for their wedding tour, the latter wore an uncommon jumper suit of mole and prune chenille, and a smartly tailored tweed coat of the same shade, a small upturned felt hat and handsome stoncinarten furs.

SCOTT—CREEMER. St. Mary's Churcch was the scene of a pretty-wedding yesterday afternoon when Ethel youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs G. W. Creemer, Timaru, was married by the Rev. H. W. Monaghan to Frederick Milne, third son of Mr and Mrs A. Scott, Rangiora. The bride, who entered the Church with her brother Mr G. B. Creemer, Waimate, was attired in a dainty twotiered frock of parchment georgette, the skirt draped at one side with eideiweiss lace of the same shade, forming a short train. Over this was worn a handsome veil of Honiton lace caught at each side with a of

orange blossom. A bouquet of Freezias and maidenhair fern and gold brocaded shoe completed the toilet. The three bridesmaids were Misses Myra Home (Tirraru), Violet Scott (Rangiora) and Coyla Cairns (Mastertcn). They were dressed alike in periwinkle marlette frocks. The uneven hem lines were finished with rows of tiny frills, and the tight-fitting bodices with triangular capes and long tight-fitting sleeves finished at the wrist with gauntlet cuffs formed by the same small frills. With these frocks were worn smart cocoa-brown hats trimmed at one side with a large velvet bow of the same shade, and shoes to tone Bouquets of spring flowers and brown leaves made a becoming contrast. Mr Then Scott brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the wedding, a rereception was held at Ye Goode Intente, Mrs Lupton (sister of the bride), receiving the guests, in a smart ensemble suit of black with white facings and black Bankok hat. She carried a bouquet of blue anemones. Later Mr and Mrs Scott left for the north, the bride wearing a frock of mushroom pink crepe de chene and hat to match. Over this w'as worn a bi’own corduroy coat with fur collar and cuffs.
