"HERALD” SHIELD COMPETITION. THIRD ROUND SERIES. The third round of the Herald" Shield competition was fired during the past fortnight. Marked improvement in the shooting was noted in this round, a high average being secured by all teams. The Timaru Miniature Rifle Association's No. 1 trophy was won by H. Duncan, and the following members will shoot off for the No. 2 trophy: T. Hubbard, F. Lewis, J. Murpny, J. Toneycliffe, A. Agnew, W. Malcolm, R. Parker, W. Skelton. The weekly challenge medal and Carmichael button were won by R. Malcolm. The final lound of the “Herald’* Shield will be fired at St. Patricks Hall on Wednesday evening.
