GLEN-ITI SCHOOL.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. A large and enthusiastic meeting of residents of Gleniti and ex-pupils of the school, was held in the schoolroom on Thursday evening, to receive the report of the committee appointed at a previous meeting to canvass the district to ascertain what support would be accorded should jubilee celebrations in connection with the school, be decided upon. Mr W. S. Curr occupied the chair. The report of the various canvassers proving satisfactory, the meeting discussed various ways and means of making the function a success, and it was decided to celebrate the jubilee on Saturday, July 27th, by means of sports, a dinner and in the evening by a dance. The secretary requested that expupils or ex-teachers, desirous of being present, should send their names and addresses to him, so that invitations might be sent. The following sub-committees were appointed: Catering—Mesdames Black, Bowers, Hood, Redway, Messrs Curr and Darling. Sports—Messrs Winnington, Redway, R. Hood and Bowers. Decorations —Mesdames Selbie, ■ McConnell, Winnington and Mr D. Pearce. Dance—Messrs R. Hood, Robinson, Bowers and Redway. Programme— Messrs Curr, Winnington and Lincoln.
