MANY NATIONS PROTEST. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, March 15. The volume and intensity of the protests from foreign nations concerning the contemplated increase in the American tariff rates has created an international situation in which nearly tiio whole world seems arrayed against the United States. The delicate problem confronting Mr Hoover is causing concern among American, diplomats here and abroad, as tho House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee has finished the first draift of the new Tariff Bill, which is t<> be considered at a special session of Congress. Great. Britain, Italy, France, Cuba ami Canada have joined the vehement South American protests. Diplomats here say they seo nothing feasible to do about the situation/ The Adminisitration is pledged to increase the duties oil agricultural products. The plan lor such increases was written into the Republican platform and championed during the campaign, and it is regarde by the .Republican leaders as an absolutely essent.a! step to the protection of American farmers.
