Dominion Meteorologist. Forecast.—Winds, between west and south-west, and later backing to southerly, generally and increasing to gale force in places. Weather cloudy in western and southern districts of the South Island and parts of Taranaki, with some scattered showers, but mainly fair to fine at first, later cloudy weather extending to the East Coast, with showers or misty rain in places; temperatures becoming colder.
