CEREMONY AT WELLINGTON. B r Telerraph—Pr*n« Association. WELLINGTON, March 4. Forty-two years ago, Mrs S Brown, Mayoress of Wellington, presented tho Wellington Regiment with a stand ot colours. Yesterday, the present Mayoress, Mrs G. A. Troup, presented the regiment with new colours, inscribed with its latest battle honours. The ceremony which took place on the Basin Reserve was witnessed by about 7000 people including representatives of the Army and Navy. Trooping of the colours is a rare sight in New Zealand, and was keenly watched by everyone present. Among the spectators was Mr S. Brown, who presented the first colours. The ceremony o.f the blessing of the colours was performed by Bishop Sprot.
