NEW YARDS OPENED SUCCESSFUL CLEARANCE. There was a yarding of approximately u ,UUU sheep lor the annual Tekapt sale, which was lielfl in tht» new yard: on Saturday. Although tile 'tota catalogued this year was smaller thai that ot last year, competition was very keen, lor the sheep came forward ii iood condition. The percentage 01 passings was very small. One of tin -hief reasons why this year’s entry was smaller than that of last year was besause a number of farmers had disposed if their offerings privately. Generally ;peaking, prices were quite satisfactory. In one or two instances, farmers iecured prices in advance of those offer, ing for the same lines at the last sale The attendance at the sale was large, anners being present from all parts oi die Mackenzie Country, and from the louthern portions of South Canterbury. More than ordinary interest was taken n the sale, as it marked the opening if the new yards. The sale was super'ised by Air C*. A. Parker, Holbrook station, Burke's Pass, who had full •ontrol of tiie management of the ■aids. Under Air Parker's able supervision. the entire sale passed off vithout a hitch.
