AIR-TIGHT JAM JARS.

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH Paraffin wax makes a good covering for keeping jam jars air-tight. This is a clear white wax, which can be easily melted in a pannikin or clean tin kept for the purpose, by placing it in a jar of boiling water. Press the sides of the pannikin together, so that it will form a curve and so allow the melted wax to run easily. When the jam has cooled and set, pour the melted wax evenly over the surface. Only a thin layer iw necessary. The should adhere to the inside margin or rim of the container.
