CUSTOMS REVENUE.
INCREASE IN CAPITAL CITY. By Teleyrnph—Press Aasec’atlon. WELLINGTON, March 1. An increase of £33,000 in the Customs revenue collected at the port ol "Wellington, in February, is shown when compared with the figures for the corresponding month last year. The figures afro ap foil owls: —February, 1929. net Custsom £233,276 17s 6d ; beer dutv £4093 19s 9d. February, 1928, net Customs £200,,288 17s 9d; deer duty £4637 6s Id. The motor spirit tax yielded £32,419 10s and the tvre tax £4534 10s. The Collator o* o*i-=tr>ms (M- F. A. Oxford) advises that the net Customs revenue for the Port of T maru, for last month, -was £9,867 16s lid, as compared with £7,659 2s 9tf for the corresponding month of last year.
