AN ACCIDENT »Mr AW Henderson, of Orari, suffered jP unfortunate accident while busy cutting up a shfcep. His knife slipped and he cut a deep gash in his left’ arm just below the elbow, cutting the main artery. Relatives rendered first aid, and immediately motored him to Geraldine, where he was attended by Dr Paterson and had several stitches put in the wound. TENNIS Delightful weather attended the handicap doubles tournament which was held on the Orari courts on Saturday afternoon by the Orari Tennis Club. Though the entries were small, the tournament proved very interesting, owing to some very closely contested games being played, the winners being Miss Kathleen Muff and Mr W. D. Moss. The following are the results of the games;— Msis K. Muff and W. D. Moss (owe 30) 6 v. Miss M. Stevens and AY. E. Cook (owe 30) 1. Mrs L. Henderson and K. Pavne (scr) 6 v. Mrs AY. A\ T atson and P. Pavne (owe 30) 5. Miss Nola AYood and A. Henderson (owe 40) 6 v. Mrs E. P. Chambers and Miss .T. D. Shanks (scr) 5. Miss Muff and Moss 6 v. Mrs L. Henderson and K. Payne 1. Miss Muff and Moss 6 v. Miss AA’ood and Henderson 2. SCARLET FEVER.
Another case of scarlet fever was reported from Orari last week, this being the fourth case from this district for ibis year. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs AY. T. Bray, A 1 bury, who have been spending a holiday on the Coast, as the guests of Mrs Black, and at Orari as the guests of Mrs AA r . Bray, have returned home. Mrs E. Owen. Dunedin, is spending a few days with her ncice, Mrs T. H arrison, AVinchester. Messrs AY. Farr and AY. Nicliol. Dunedin, who were the guests of Air and Airs J. H. Anderson, Winchester, left by motor for the West Coast. Air R. Petrie, head grader of the. Flax Department, Wellington, was in Winchester this week.
