Mr Baldwin amusingly referred to the Government's Irish loyalists surrender in a speech at the Worcestershire Association’s dinner, at which Mr Churchill was the principal guest. Mr Baldwin said he had learned very enrly that a Worcestershire man could not be “druv.” Mr Churchill knew. The same was true of Lord Oxford’ 3 ire.” The other day we found ourselves, side' by side, in the House of Commons, which was in a mood, which recalled to us, some of the peculiarities of the people amongst whom we had been brought up. I remembered the words of an old drover who was experiencing more than usual difficulty in getting his pigs along the road to market, namely : A hard thing to drive when there are many of them, is the pig. I whispered that to Mr Churchill, and we surrendered.”
