PLEASANT POINT.

THE TOWN BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Town Board was attended bv the following Commissioners—Messrs ' M F Maze (chairman), L. Bendall. H. Elms, A. C Cartwright, W. Wakefield and H. Christie. The Temnka Licensing Committee returning officer wrote asking whether the hall would be available as a polling booth. 'lhc clerk was directed to reply in the affirmative. The census and statistics office wrote relative to the altered boundaries of Pleasant Point and Levels County.— The Clerk to attend to. Commissioners Mazo and Wakefield ■were appointed to confer with the Levels County Council re the control of roads owing to the adjustment of the new boundaries. The South Canterbury Automobile Association wrote re drivers’ licences. The Railway (Department wrote relative to trees obstructing the view at Manse Hill railway crossing, and asked that the Board serve notice to cut them back. The Inspector of Stock notified that noxious weeds were growing on some projercies in the Town District.—lt was decided that notice be given to have cut. The Health Inspector notified that there had been no cases of infectious disease during the past month Mr J. A. Smith applied for permission to erect another bowser in front of his enrage.—Granted, subject to the Board’s conditions. A deputation from the W.E.A. Point Group waited upon the Board with reference to hiring the library room for the coming year.—Satisfactory arrnngeTho foreman’s report was read and adopted. GENE/R AL. Accounts amounting to £B6 18s 4d were passed for p:\vnient. and hall a counts amounting to £27. Tt was decided to hold a concert and dance in aid of the hall funds NOTES. Air A. K.
