GLEN-ITI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Gien-iti Goit Club was held oh Tuesday evening, there being an attendance of over I tiin ty members. Ihe annual report, which was ! adopted, stated that the first year was naturally one of sonic anxiety to a new Club, but old and new members rallied j well, and the membership mounted up | to the very pleasing total of 105. Club j and inter chib matches were played. | Naturally the club did not win many ; outside matches, but they were always j enjoyable. Thirteen different club I matches were held, and prizes were well divided up among club members. Tlic ! Ladies’ eiminpionship was fought out by Alesdames Scott and Roberts, Airs Scott winning; and the men's senior by Alessrs Alenzies and Alcßeath, the lormer being victorious. In the men’s junior championship, a hard struggle nei ween Messrs Low and \Y. Davies Jei suited in a win lor the former, j Financially, the club had held its own, and a fair sum had been spent on improving the fairways, though not j so much by a long way as was needed. It was felt, however, that members : would notice a considerable improvei mont in that respect. As the club’s lease was only for one year on trial, the committee had, lowing to "the encouraging nature of the past year’s results, entered into an agreement with the landlords to lease the two westerly blocks for two years, iai a rental of £7O for first year, and j £75 for second year, thus providing an extra three or possibly four holes. •This will mean less congestion, but | more financial obligation, so the club (expected that members would do thcii utmost to bring in new members tc finable requirements to be met. It was regrettable that the Saturday ’bus had to be discontinued, aftei making a loss of about £3. 11 sufficient support was guaranteed, the club might bo able to arrange for t thanks were clue to those ladies win ’bus this season. The Club’s besi assisted to make the visits of the out side clubs enjovable by providing am presiding over afternoon tea, and tc those members who had helped to keet the greens in order during the of ■ season.
