APPOINTMEXTS A NNOUNCED. WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. The Prime Minister announced to-day tho«!ippointment of Mr G. W. Clinkarci, of the Department of industries and Commerce, Wellington, to be secretary to the Administration of Western Samoa, in succession to Colonel Hutchen. It will be remembered that Colonel Hutclien some time ago applied for a transfer to the New Zealand service. This has now been approved in principle. A further appointment is that of Mr ( . H. Sell wans, of the Department or Agriculture, Palmerston North, as manager ot the v New Zealand reparation estates, a position which has been created in accordance with a recommendation by the committee which recently reported* on the finances and staff of the territory. To fill the vacancy . caused by the recent death of the accountant of the reparation estates. Mr L. C. Scott, of t In* Department of Agriculture, Wellington. lias been appointed. The appointment of a treasurer to replace Mr I*. Wild (whose application for a transfer t-o the New Zealand service has also been approved), and of an internal auditor. will be announced shortly. These officers will proceed to S-iinoa early in April on a two years’ term of duty.
