ALLEGED ASSAULT ON ESCAPEE

Serious;, allegations were made by eye-witnesses of the capture 4ho Borstal escapee, Thomas George Flanagan (18), on Satin day. ft is asserted that-, after seal t hing him, the warders punched him about the head and bodj , and knocked him down, the victim crying for mercy. ': Superintendent Pollock said there would probably’ be a Departmental inquiry. Tho youth made no complaint of ill-treatment, and the usual medical report showed that his health was goud and that he was fit.to appear in Gourt.
