SOCIAL NOTES.

Mr and Mrs Foster Neill, Albury, have been on a visit to Christchurch. Miss Joyce Jones, Otiritiri, will leave tc-dav on a visit to her sister, Mrs J. C. Guinness, “Farmleigh,” Ealing. Miss Elizabeth Shana, who. was with Mrs Cossins, Wai-iti Road, returned to Dunedin on Saturday. Mrs James Hay, Christchurch, will arrive on Wednesday to stay with Mrs W. H. Walton, Park Lane. Mr and Mrs J. E. Henrys left for Christchurch on Saturday afternoon, en route for Nelson.

Mr and Mrs F. A. Raymond, Mrs G. Wright and Mr M. Raymond, Beverley Road, who spent the week-end in Christchurch, arc expected back to-day. The Rev. S. Hinson, who has been staying with his daughter, Mrs J. Temple, Highfield, left for Blackball, on Saturday. Mrs Duncan Rutherford, and Mr and Mrs Dampicr-Crossley, who have been staying at the Grosvenor Hotel, motored back to North Canterbury yesterday. Word has been received that Miss H. C. Straclian arrived in London on Friday last.

A successful dance organised by tlie South Canterbury Football Association was held in the Bay Hall on Saturday evening. Despite very wet weather 125 couples were present. About sixty of the complement of HALS. Dunedin spent an enjoyable evening. Mr Flett, lion, secretary of the Association, and Mr A. Robertson carried out the duties of M.C.
