INCREASE IN CANADA. By Cab!* —Press & ssoclat!on—right AuatraL’an and N.Z. Cable Aasfciatioa VANCOUVER, September 15. Mr T. IV. Bignay, controller of the Consolidated Mining Smelting Company, of Canada, in an address to the Empire Alining Congress, said Canada’s output of lead and zino had so increased as nearly to equal tli output of tho Australian States, which at present were tho leading producers in the Empire. The bulk of Canada’s supply was obtained from Sullivan (British Columbia), the largest zinc mine in the world.

This makes the third mine in the Silver City to close, and with the miners of the other mines closed, bi'ings the total unemployed to 1422. Other mines in Broken Hill ar-a expected shortly to announco that they also are closing.
