TOWN BOARD

The following were present at a meeting of the Town Board :—Commissioners M. Maze (chairman), W. Oborn, H. Christie, L. Rendall, A. Chisholm, 11. Blissett and G. Wakefield. Messrs s,laze and Oborn moved : “That a rate of lid in the £ be struck on all rateable property for the, coming year.” —Carried. -Members were pleased that no increase was necessary. Regarding the proposed erection of stables, it was proposed by Messrs Wakefield and Blissett, to build the stables on the reserve out of revenue.— Carried, Councillor Chisholm dissenting. The foreman’s report was read and adopted. It was decided that the ranger’s attention be called to stock which wanders on the roads. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £74 9s 6d. A plan of the proposed beautification of the creek reserve was submitted by Mr Rendall. It was moved by Messrs Wakefield and Blissett, that the plan be approved, and that Mr Rendall be heartily thanked for same. The preparation of the ground was deft to Messrs Maze, Christie and Chisholm. DOMAIN BOARD! The Football Club nnide application for permission to make a charge not exceeding Is for three competition games during the season. —Granted. The Tennis Club wrote asking their position with the Board, regarding the upkeep of the courts, and annual rental cliargeij. —It was deckled that the Board accepted no liabilities to top dress or repair courts,. A number of accounts were passed for payment. The Works Committee were directed to call tenders for lease for grazing of about. 60 acres at Domain. MINIATURE RIFLES. The Rifle Club held tlieir weekly shoot, when a trophy donated by Mr, J. Elder was keenly competed for, and won by H. Fergusson, who also annexed the weekly button. The following, were the scores off the rifle: T. Forrest 69, W. Taylor 68, R. Barker 68, H- Holwell 67, Dr Bonham 67, H. Elms 66 H. Fergusson 66, J. Stevenson 66, F ’ Birse 65, Geo. Batchelor 65, J.
