LOSS ON RAILWAYS.
VICTORIA SHOWS DEFICIT. AIELBOURNE, July 5. As a result chiefly of the increased fares and freights which became operative last year, the earnings of the Victorian railways for the year jjist ended amounted to £13,302,000, an increase of £9 (.5,000 over the previous year, and a record. Despite this increase a deficit of £50,000 is expected on the year’s operations.
