DEATH OF JAMES WHITE.

SIMPLE INTERMENT IN COUNTRY VILLAGE.

By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 5, 7.0 p.m.) LONDON, July 4. A strange contrast to the hectic life of adventure was James White’s simple interment in the tiny cemetery in Hie Wiltshire village of Wandborougli. The coffin rested on a wreathcovered farm waggon which was drawn through the quint country lanes. Thousands came from towns and villagCvS for miles around, following the coffin in a strangely-varied procession, consisting of influential citizens from the Yorkshire cities, also Londoners, theatrical managers, actors, racing men, and boxers. Four motor lorries were required to carry the wreaths. White expressed a wish that he should be buried beneath the windowroom at Foxhill, surrounded by htwns and flowers. The official receiver vetoed this because it would possibly affept the residential value. He also vetoed tho second suggestion for the top of an adjacent hill for the same reason. There was a dense crowd outside the churchyard.
