Reviewing the work of the International Chambers of Commerce Congress, which closed its sessions at Stockholm on Saturday, the American, Mr Owen Young, states that the most significant pronouncement -was the declaration that the object sought was the largest and most economical production and distribution of goods rorvices among all peoples. International business places itself squarelv cn the foundation of its own' best interests, which are best served by improved economic conditions, rather than, by attempts to achieve isolated, temporary advantages, Sir Alan A. Anderson, dwelt on widespread European unemployment, reckoning that 20,000,000 people were suffering directly. “These want not only to sell, but to buy in. a circle, which has been broken. If by a bravo policy we can mend, that circle, wo shall see' the greater trade revival the world has ever known.” Signor Alberto Pirelli was elected president.
