MINIATURE RIFLES.

SOUTH ISLAND CHAAIPrONSHIP. • A special meeting of delegates was held in tlie Tiniaru Club’s range on Saturday. Mr F. Lewis presided over a good attendance of delegates. August 6th was fixed for the championship. The committee agreed to the following allocation of prize money; —Teams, £35; individual, £ls, aggregate £2O; total £7O. Entry fees were fixed at 4s per man per match, to close on 31sfc July.

Officials were appointed as follows: Range officers, Messrs J. Thomas, W. Duncan, C. Johnston, B. Armstrong and AY. Mitchell; target stewards, Messrs J. Moore, J. Collins, P. Newman, J. Newbiggan, AY. R. Dale and R. Campbell; firing point stewards, Messrs Travers, L. McKeefrey, J. Stevenson, E. Power, J. Packer and A. Foden; target checkers, Messrs T. Thompson, F. Bartos, R. Hannan, J. Murphy, J. Toneyclilfe, junr., AV. AA r ood, J. Bennett; score sheet stewards, Messrs P. Foden, AA T . Malcolm, M. Higgins; assistant secretary, AA r . Malcolm; displaying targets, Mr J. Toneyclilfe, senr.; fixing range, Messrs Mitchell and Thomas; control of loading, Mr AV. Best and assistants; re shields, Mr T. Thompson; refreshments, Mr F. Lewis. QUEEN CARN fA r AL. Correspondence was read from the Defence Rifle Club, asking for the cooperation of all Miniature Rifle Clubs in the Timaru districts, also the election of a delegate to the Executive. — The meeting unanimously agreed to nominate Mr L. MciKeefrey as delegate, and that all clubs be asked to co-operate in the movement. It was agreed to hold another meeting on Saturday evening, to consider details of the Queen Carnival work.
