They are remarkable for their size and constitution, in conjunction with the weight and quality of the wool clip. For many years past the Half-bred Flock has been maintained by direct crossing with Romney Rams and Merino Ewes, a flock of the latter having been kept for that purpose. There will also be a SPECIAL SALE of BLACK POLLED CATTLE AND ' WELSH PONIES, at TINWALD SALEYARDS, MONDAY, MAY 9, 1927, At 11 o’clock in the Forenoon. The whole of the Cattle and Ponies from the Surrey Hills Estate as under:—■ COWS. 31 P.A. Breeding Cows. 17 Two-year-old Heifers 28 Calves, mixed sexes. The above Cows have been running with a Shorthorn and P.A. Bull. The above lots represent the whole of the noted Surrey Hills Stud of Welsh Cob Ponies, from which numerous prize-takers have been selected.
