The Admiralty lias authorised' the Australian Press Association to convey cordial recognition of New Zealand’s splendid patriotism and material', cooperation in Singapore, which' it iegards as botli timely and practical. Mr TV. C. Bridgeman (First Lord of the Admiralty) is communicating appreciatively with Mr Coates direct, both officially and personally. Colonel Amery is equally appreciative. Y Not only is the Dominions’ Ministry gladdened by the good news, but', inevitably the whole Government' is impressed. \ Mr Coates’s decision is the chief topic of discussion in Admiralty circles, which will issue - an official statement when the New Zealand Parliament confirms the vote.

The decision is also warpily applauded by New Zealanders in Britain.’
