Mr N. M. Orbell left Timaru for Christchurch yesterday afternoon. The Rev. T. Wilson Potts arriyed in Timaru from Waikouaiti by the first express yesterday. Mr H. B. S. Johnstone was a passenger for Christchurch by the first express yesterday afternoon. Mr F. C. Renyard, R.Sc., Inspector of Manual Technical Instruction, is paying an official visit to TitnaruV It is understood that Mr Eh Macdonald, of Fairlie, has been appointed to the vacancy on the Canterbury Land Board caused by the death of Mr R. Macaulay. Mr H. L. Tapley, M.P., Mayor oi Dunedin, will not be a candidate for the Mayoralty at the forthcoming municipal elections. He intends to devote his time in future to parliamentary duties. —’ (Press Association.)
