POWER DELAYED.

AUCKLAND’S QUOTA FROM ARAPUNI. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 11. A statement that power from Arapu'nii will not bo available until the end of next year was contained' in a letter received by the Auckland Power Board to-day from the Minister of Public Works (Hon. K. S. Williams). As this is nine months later than the date named in the contract between the Board and the Public Works Department, upon which the Board has relied, tho information was viewed with grave concern, as it means that the normal development of electric power in Auckland district cannot be made next winter.

It was decided to ask the Minister what provision would he made to supply the Board with the extra power that would be needed after the present winter.
