By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 8. Toward the end of last year L. H. Wynyard, who is well-known in racing circles in Auckland, went to Sydney, and it is alleged that during the time he spent in New South Wales, he went to the Newcastle races on November 24. He was a disqualified person at the time, having incurred the displeasure of the racing authorities twice previously. An inquiry was held by the Auckland District Committee, and they came to the following decision: “That the Committee are satisfied on the evidence that L. 11. Wynyard was present at the Newcastle race meeting on 24th November, 1926, while a disqualified person, and that he be and is hereby disqualified for a term of six months from 15th March, 1927, and fined a sum of 5 sovs, in terms of Rule 4, part XXXII. of the Rules of Racing. That L. H. Wynyard is guilty of a corrupt practice under the Rules of Racing within the meaning of part XXXII., Rule 1 (h), and that he be and is hereby disqualified for a term of three years from 7th April, 1927.”

A message from Adelaide states that Manfred has been retired from racing, ?ind will begin stud duties in September. Paleta is to race in the second division of the Fairfield Handicap at Warwick Farm, being topweight with 0.5. Nominations for the autumn meeting of the South Canterbury Jockey Club (April 29 and 30), are due by 0 p.m. on Tuesday next. As some difficulty was experienced in getting a rider for Rapine at Riccarton, it is understood that he will now go to Ellerslie with Star Stranger and Joy King, other members of trainer Jefferd’s team. Limerick is expected to race today at the A.J.C. course at Warwick Farm, in the Chipping Norton Stakes, of £IOOO, 1$ miles, run at weight-for-age, with penalties and allowances. Probable starters in the Chipping Norton Stakes to-day are: Limerick, Windbag, Spearfelt, Valicare, Pantheon, Amounis and Thracian. Despite the result of the Rawson Stakes at Rosehill, Sydney tipsters are pinning their faith to Windbag. Count Cavour developed soreness during his voyage across the Tasman. He was given easy exercise at Randwick, and according to the “Dally Telegraph,” his particularly short action did not impress. The “Telegraph” adds: “Count Cavour does not appear to have an ounce of flesh to spare, so it will be interesting to see how he shapes in training during the next few days.” At a meeting of the Oamaru Jockey Club the question of holding the one-day meeting on June 25, to complete the dates the Club has applied for, was discussed. It was decided to ask the Dunedin Jockey Club for permission to race at Wingatui because the local course would be undergoing alterations, and in the event of a favdurable reply, to submit the suggestion to race there to a general meeting of members. A statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the autumn meeting disclosed a deficit of £376.
