The “Financial News” reviewing the Australian loan maturities in 19J7 discusses exhaustively the question of New York borrowing. The paper mentions fears in London financial circles that this will in some way assist American 'trade with Australia at the expense of trade. The -writer recommends that every effort should be made to retain the business here, but admits that as Australia must bo a heavy borrower, careful management will be necessary if her wants are to be satisfied at a low cost.
