CENTRE EXAMINATIONS. Mr A. Lawrence Gee, lion. local representative of tlie Associated Board df H.A.M., and tlie It.C.M., London, has received the following notifications of the winners of tho gold and silver medals for 1926, donated to candidates at the local Centre examinations throughout Now Zealand whci gain the highest honours marks : Advanced Grade (gold medal). — Isabel Brown (violin), Invercargill; Dorothy Eilkins (pianoforte), Christchurch. Advanced Grade (silver medal). — Edna Dry (pianoforte), Dunedin. Intermediate (gold medal). —Judith Giesen (pianoforte), Wellington. Silver ITpdnh —Isa C. Anderson (pianoforte), Wellington. o° cal exhibitions, valued at £ls and £lO, were also offered to candidates "’ho showed exceptional musical promise, with a view to encouraging them to continue their studies. These were awarded as follows: Advanced Grade.—Kathleen M. B. Knell (pianoforte), the Convent, Greymouth. Intermediate.—Hilda Wallace (pianoforte), Dunedin. The Violet Ward prize, valued' at |Co, offered at Christchurch, was wetn. by Katherine I. Benham.
