THE WHEAT QUESTION String.endeavours are being made by the Farmers’ Union and others to prevail upon the Premier, who is coming South, to give Government’s help in stabilising the price of wheat. A feasible and good scheme is in process of being put forward, and it is desired that the Hon. Mr. Coates shall receive the same from a fully representative gathering of Farmers of South Canterbury. On Tuesday morning lists will be ready asking the Government’s aid for the wheat-growing industry,, and it is desired that Farmers will avail themselves of the opportunity of presenting a unanimous petition to the Premier, preparatory to meeting him in public meeting. Lists will be available for signature at ©ur offices at Timaru, Waimate, Geraldine, Fairlie, Temuka, Morven, and Waihao Downs, on Tuesday morning. Farmers !
