FIRES.

PAINT SHOP DAMAGED. By Tclecraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Alarcli 6. The city fire brigade received an early call this morning, when a fire broke out in the premises occupied by Air Thos. Bailey, painter and paperluuiger, at 36 Great North Road, Grey Lynn. Although the brigade was early on the scene extensive damage wa<j done before, the lire could be got under control. The building was two storeyed, owned by H. Phillips, of St. Helpers’ Bay, and occupied by Bailey. The unper storey was used as a dwelling. The interior and contents were extensively damaged. The contents were insured for £2400 with the A r ictoria Insurance Co., Ltd.
