NARROW ESCAPE.
AUSTRALIAN EXPRESS IN DANGER IRON BAR ON LINE. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 21, 9.55 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Jan. 21. A serious accident to the Mel-bourne-Adelaide express was narrowly averted to-day, when the front wheels of the engine, left the rails near Mount Lofty. An investigation showed that a large piece of iron had been placed across the line, causing the wheels to jump the rails. No one was injured.
