At 1.30 sharp this day, at the Wentworth Auction Mart, ten gas balloons will be floated off. Each balloon will have a, tag. attached. Finders are requested to read instructions on tags which to tlieir benefit. Immediately after the balloons are floated a monster no reserve auction sale will be hejd, when the whole of the stoek of drapery, mercery, fancy goods, sardines, toys, fireworks, will be offered, and all have to be cleared regardless of price. Two cases of fireworks and 500 gas balloons will be reserved for salo to-night between 7 and 10 o’clock. ...

Patrons and visitors to Timaru are' reminded of the New Year’s Scottish concert in the. Unitarian Hall to-morrow night. A special feature will be the performance of Mr Ramage, of Dunedin, who will entertain the audience on several musical instruments with popular Scotch airs.
