WOOL SALES.
ADVANCE IN PRICES AT AUOK- ' ‘ LAND. L ' ' By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. The wool sale Closed to-day. Spirited binding was maintained throughout, and a very satisfactory clearance was made, about 95 per cent, of ,the catalogues being sold. Prices, compared with the three southern sales, showed a considerable advance. The Auckland clip offered at this Bale represented the best quality presented to buyers this season. , The good clearance was largely due to increased competition by Continentals, compared with southern operations. The majority of growers received slightly less than was realised at the corresponding sale last year. Values for crossbreds were appreciably better than tiiose I recorded at the February sale. Bellies, j pieces, crutcliings and locks also made better prices than in February. The top price, 2(Rd,' was paid yesterday for a hue of half-bred. ’ This was unequalled to-day, the next highest price being 19d, paid for a line of quarter-bred.
