By Cablo— Frill AnocUtlon—Copjrrliht. Aaotr&Uao anil N.Z. OablO Asaooiaiia.. LONDON, October 7. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Riga correspondent gives confirmation of the widening of. the rift among the Soviet leaders, forwarding a Soviet Press story of a meeting at which MM. Trotsky, Zinovieff and Radek openly came out as oppositionists, declaring that, the Bolshevik Party lacked the democratic spirit. The loyalists greeted M- Zinovieff wit'li cries of “Down with the Renegades —the deserters of the revolution.”- * M. Trotsky, in a speech, criticised the 'absence of real democracy, and finally, by 88 votes to 27, the meeting passed a resolution demanding the repression of the Oppositionists. M. Wolotoff followed with a warning to the Oppositionists to .cease their heretical activity, which was undermining the Unity of the party, otherwise extreme measures would be taken.
