(From Our Own CorresDondent.X OBITUARY. MR C. F. ROBERTS. The death occurred early yesterday morning' at his parents’ residence, Seddon Street, Temulca, of Mr C. F. Roberts, only son of Mr and Mrs F. C. Roberts, at the ago of 21 years. The deceased lad has been a great sufferer, and for the past nineteen months had been very ill. He was born in Bristol, England, and completed his primary education in Kaiapoi, New Zealand. He then attended (lie Christchurch West High School, and removed to Tenuika, whore lie completed his secondary education. He was exceptionally fond of/reading, and was greatly interested in Christian social work, his ambition being to become a minister. Ho was a member of the Christchurch Y.M.C.A., taking a "special interest in the debating class. Mr Roberts (sen.), is the woodwork instructor for tlie Temuka district, arid also for the Marist Bros., Main, and West Schools, Timaru. Great sympathy is fell for the family throughout. the district. The funeral will take place to-morrow. Tile bearers will be members of the Methodist Bible Class, of which the deceased was a member.

METHODIST SOCIAL EVENING. A very popular winter evening social was held in the Wethodist, Sunday School on Wednesday evening, when there was a good attendance of young people. The hall had been tastefully decorated by the junior girls, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Several new and interesting competitions and games were introduced, and during the evening songs were pleasingly rendered by Misses E. 13rya.ii and M. Mathieson. Winners o£ the competitions were Misses M. Ellis, L. Blackmore, E. Stewart, and L. Hewson, and Rev. Richards. The latter gentleman was also chairman, and during the evening briefly eulogised the work of the. young people. A large part of the work fell upon Miss Brown and Mrs Dale, for the evening’s success, and a tasteful supper was provided at the close.
