TRIBUTE TO CAPTAIN COOK.
CELEBRATION IN HONOLULU. By Cable—Pros* Association—Copyright. Australian .in-) N.Z. Ainc-Stulcn. (Received June 20, 5.5 p.m.) HONOLULU, June 19. Sir Joseph Carruthers, who arrived in the Aorangi to present the Australian Flag to the Pan-Pacific Union, from Mr Bruce, on Monday, when the Governor will be present, intends to confer with the various organisations concerning the Polynesian Conference to be held here in 1928, on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of Captain Cook’s discovery of the group. The proposals include memorial celebrations, including the assembly of an international fleet in Kealakenkut Bay, where Cook was killed in the following year.
Sir Joseph Carruthers expects to further a plan for the establishment of a National Park at the scene of Captain Cook’s death.'
