“THE ANCIENT MARINER.” AT THE GRAND. When Samuel Taylor Coleridge penned “Tho Rime ol’ tho Ancient Mariner,” little did lie dream that one day Ins immortal poemi would be visualised upon the screen. This classic will bo shown at the Cran'd Theatre, beginning to-day. Henry Otto, noted director of fantasies, has employed his genius to mould the fantasy into one of the most sublimo achievements of motion picture history. Eve Unsell, for .several years a .star of the scenario world, was selected to write, the modern sequence of “The Ancient Mariner.” This Miss Unsell has done in a superlative manner. The little teacher, played by Blara. Row, who figures import 7 antly in tho picture, will long Jive in the hearts of any audience. She is wistful, dainty and lovable, and withal, daring, when the man she loves is in danger. And the country boy, impersonated by Leslie Fenton, seems not to be a shadow self, but a pulsating human lining. Tho seafaring man, who tells the story, is played by that sterling artist, NigeL He Brullicr, whose work as tho prophet in “Tho Four Horsemen” will never be forgotten by ills generation. “Brant,” the villain, will gain cympathy and ( a feeling of sorrow for hi.s misdeeds by the manner in which be is interpreted by Earle Williams. The title role is portrayed, by no less a person than Paul Panzer. One actor who was imported from Europe is tho Albatross —a genuine one —procured through tho courtesy of a museum in England. Others in tho cast of “The Ancient Mariner” are Gladys Broekwell, Robert Klein, Vivian Oakland and Wilson Benge. The supporting programme contains the latest Fox News, a two-reel Imperial comedy “Strong for Love,’ 1 and a charming post-travel film showing how some “Toil For Rest.” Seats may be reserved as usual. IN “THOSE WHO JUDGE.”. “'Those Who Judge,” a Society melodrama, starring Patsy Ruth Miller and Lou Tcllegon, opens at the Theatre Royal this evening, and will be the. feature attraction at ibis popular bouse. Based on the widely read novel by Margery Land May. entitled “Such As Sit Li Judgment,” as picturised by Banner Productions, Inc., under the direction of Burton King, “Those Who Judge” is said to be entertainment of tiie best quality, with plenty of thrills and suspense.
