Sir Joseph Ward, in a recent issue of the Svdncy “Daily Telegraph,’-’ is reported to have said: “Sydney is going to be the greatest city in the Southern Ihieiiie; greater than San Francisco ever ivill be. I was here a year ago, and the first riling which struck me this time was the great development since then.” . As to politics, Sir Joseph Ward said tilings had been very quiet- in the Dominion since the elections. He could not speak with authority for any particular party, as l,e belonged now to a party of one—iiimself. “Tint the first session, which commences on June 16, will he interesting,’’ he remarked. 'And 1 will be back in time for the opening.’-
