SERIES OF OFFENCES. PALMERSTON N., June 11. Tiie hearing concluded in the Police Court yesterday afternoon, of a scries of charges against John Joseph Henson- alias Jim Wcreta • (23) Neils Marten Olsen (32), Edith Posina Smith (22). The first named pleaded guilty to stealing from a hou.-.e at Papatawa the sum of 17s and sundry articles including a post office savings hank book of a total value of £3 TIo further pleaded guiltv to forging a post offieo withdrawal .siip- for £159 and uttering the same to Smith. He was committed for -sentence at the Wellington Supreme Court. Smith pleaded not guilty to forging another withdrawal slip for the same amount, and uttering the same to a postal official, and also not guilty to conspiring with the others the Postmaster-General ol £159. Sho was committed for trial at the Palmerston North Court.
Tlanscn and Olsen pleaded guilty to conspii acy in the connection, and were commiiied to Wellington lor sentence.
