King Faud refused Ziwar Pasha’i resignation, and requested him to carry on until the crisis is settled. It is believed an arrangement is impossible between Britain and Zaghlul Pasha, who, it ic reported, will sit in Parliament on June 5, with a Royal decree-. (Egypt was originally part of tho Turkish Empire. In 1914 a British protectorate was recognised by France, Russia, Belgium, Serbia, Greece. Portugal, and the United States. It terminated on February 28, 1922, and the Sultan was proclaimed King on March 15 of the same year, the British Government reserving for future discussion the questions of the security of composition in Egypt, defence, protection of foreign interests, and of minorities, and the Soudan.)
