STATEMENT BY MrNISTEJL By Tclcgrnpli—Trees Associalion WELLINGTON, June 1. Interviewed to-day regarding the New Zealand loan, the Hon, AY, I). Stewart, Minister of Finance, stated that the information to hand indicated that the loan had been very successful, the amount having been fully subscribed within two hours of being,placed on the market. In view of flic difficult industrial position in Britain, the result afforded satisfactory evidence of our credit in the London market, which has for years been of a high standard. Very full particulars were given in the prompeetus as to the sound state ■.-if the finances of the Dominion, and he had no doubt tins had been a factor in attracting investors.
