FIRES.
BLAZE' AT PICTURE*-SHOW. By Telegrnph—Press A-jUociotion. ' GISBORNE, May 3. An outbreak.of lire, occurred at a country picture show at Te Karaka on Saturday -night, shortly after tlic interval. The hall in wliLli .the pictures were being shown was completely destroyed. A- wOtn. out piece of film, was caught in the gate of the machine, and when Mr Powell, the operator, went to extinguish the flames, another film caught alight, the fife thereafter spreading rapidly. ;• Mr Powel.l was slightly h.urned about the head and hands.
