ISLAND STEAMER DELAYED. By T?l6jT?'®ph* -Press A Ksoclatlon. AUCKLAND, May 3. The Ngakuta was to have .saile<l at seven o’clock to-night for Rarotonga. At sailing time the stokehold staff demanded that three additional trimmers should be engaged. Tho Union Company refused tho demand, and tho firemen would not take the steamer to sea. They walked ashore when Captain Crav was about to take the Ngakuta to the stream, and tho sailors refused to let go the mooring lines while the firemen were on shore. Jhe steamer’s departure was postponed indefinitely.
