By real and substantial preference, both in the customs duties and in the placing of contracts, tho New Zealand Government shows a strong de-sire to encourage British manufacturers. It is plain, therefore, that with proper organisation, and iv t'h a feeling of goodwill existent there is a splendid opportunity for the Britisher to expand Ins business here. Let him make a study of the requirements of the market, both as to standard design of manufactures. and keep in close touch with importers and buy na institutions in the Dominions, not only by resident agents, but by personal visits to tile Dominion.
